How Scootee handles account, location, mileage, expense, and field-work data.
Scootee is the data processor for customer organizations using the service; the employer or subscribing organization is generally the controller of its workforce records. This policy applies to the Scootee Android field app, portal, and related services.
Data we collect
Account data includes your work email, display name, organization, role, and device notification token. During an active field session, the Android app records precise GPS coordinates, accuracy, timestamp, device-reported speed, and derived route, distance, and duration. Features you choose to use may also collect expense details, receipt images, attendance punches, tasks, customer visits, messages, and diagnostic events.
Scootee does not collect location before you start a session. While a session is active, location continues in the background even when the app is closed or not in use. Collection stops when you end the session.
Why we use it
We use this data to authenticate you, record verified field work, display live and historical routes, calculate mileage, support expenses and attendance, sync offline records, send operational notifications, prevent spoofing and fraud, provide support, and secure the service.
Who can access it
Your employer or organization administers your work account and can access field records permitted by its role settings, including active-session location and history. Scootee uses contracted infrastructure providers such as Supabase for hosting and Google services for maps and notifications. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.
Storage, security, and retention
Records are encrypted in transit and stored on your device and in organization-isolated cloud systems. We retain work records while the organization account is active and as needed for legitimate payroll, expense, audit, security, contractual, or legal requirements. Deleted account data is removed or de-identified within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required by law or the employer's documented record-keeping obligations.
Your choices and deletion
You can stop location collection by ending the active session. Android permissions can be changed in system settings, although tracking features will then stop working. To request access, correction, export, or deletion, contact your organization administrator and email privacy@scootee.app. We verify requests and respond within the period required by applicable law.
Children and international use
Scootee is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. Data may be processed where Scootee and its contracted service providers operate, subject to contractual and legal safeguards.
